New powerful imaging technologies and insights from human genetics and cell biology are helping us better understand disease-related changes in the brain and the nervous system. These rapidly emerging insights are enabling the development of new approaches to treating devastating diseases of the nervous system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Our focus on research and treatments for neurological disorders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Our scientists are working to discover and develop novel therapeutics for a host of diseases involving the nervous system, which continue to represent one of the greatest therapeutic challenges of our time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"621\" height=\"410\" src=\"https:\/\/www.msd-cyprus.com.cy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2025\/04\/c-15832.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2427\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exploring potential disease-modifying approaches<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our research is focused on discovering and developing novel therapeutics for a host of nervous system disorders. We&#8217;re pursuing a variety of new approaches as we strive to understand the biology behind brain health, neurodegeneration and the nervous system. We&#8217;re evaluating targets that have been implicated in many nervous system disorders and investing in new research on important biological functions including neuroimmunology, lysosomal function and protein homeostasis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"618\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.msd-cyprus.com.cy\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2025\/04\/c-15833.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2428\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Researching symptom control<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our symptomatic research is focused on alleviating symptoms associated with nervous system disorders, including pain, excessive sleepiness and psychosis.
